Melons Make the Best Summer Colors
In my opinion, melons are the color of summer as much as blue skies and green grass — perhaps even more so, since they are so seasonal and autumnal days can have sharp blue skies, too. There’s a lot of variation in melon colors, from color intensity to contrast, which makes it fun to work with in patterns — check out these two variations to prove the point.
In this pattern I went with something that would bring summer fiestas poolside or add a little sparkle on the deck. A variation on collegiate argyle and classic Frank Lloyd Wright brings a little extra body to summer patterns, which are usually more organic shapes like circles and swirls. There aren’t too many summer surfaces that wouldn’t be cheered up by this pattern.
